Make Up For Ever HD Foundation

I heard so many amazing reviews for this foundation from youtube, livejournal, makeupalley, etc etc that it made me very curious about it.

I went into sephora and had the girl color match me. We took about 10-15 minutes to try to get a shade closets to my skin tone. I noticed she wasn't very good at it b/c she matched me to a color that made me look like I had dirt on my face. I'm very pale with yellow undertones and she got really dark shades for me. Anyway, I decided to just grab a bottle and hand it to her. It was in shade 117 (for light skin with yellow undertones). It looked like it was the closest to my skin maybe a shade lighter, if even.

The foundation made my skin look flawless. The coverage was decentbut it's also buildable. It smells great, too. I applied it with my MAC 187 brush but I noticed that the brush didn't pick up as much foundation as I would've wanted it to. I'm thinking it's best to apply it with a kabuki brush to get better coverage b/c with the 187, the application was light. I also noticed that if dries up rather quickly so you need to be fast!

I have to say that it is wonderful but with good things, come bad things. It made me break out HORRIBLY!! I didn't have a single pimple when I walked into sephora but the same day that I applied the foundation in the store, that night I got pimples! I must've had over 8 pimples that week. It was horrible. My skin is barely clearing up, thank god! This foundation isn't made for oily skin, either. I, myself get oily in the tzone so I had to set this foundation with powder AND needed a primer b/c otherwise it just didn't work. I'm willing to give this foundation another try in the future to see if it wont make me break out anymore.

I really loved it but it just isn't for me :(

I know that everybody has different skin texture so what doesn't work for me, might work for you!

I was considering trying this one out after I tried the MUFE Mat Velvet + Matifying Foundation. You may consider sampling that one, because it's oil-free, and most importantly, non-comedogenic...which means it won't clog your pores and make you break out!

Anyway, I hope you returned it. And I won't be waiting to try this one anymore since I have the most acne-prone skin in the world!
